Are you a knitter that has not tackled sock knitting yet?
what’s stopping you?
I know when I knit my first pair of socks, I was a afraid of the dreaded heel turn. Still, I cast on my first pair of socks and realized that the first part was easy, then came the heel turn.
while I did have to turn off my audiobook to pay attention and count stitches, it was nothing I had not done before.
When I was finished with my heel turn, it was smooth sailing until the toe.
I had to learn my first Kitchener stitch, and I’m glad that I did, I use Kitchener stitch for many other applications now, and I love the seamless look. and, it’s not as hard as it appeared to be!
I love making socks, and i’m so glad that I now have a project small enough to carry with me anywhere I go, and an application for all of the sock yarn I had been collecting.
Hand knit socks are absolutely wonderful! they are so comfortable!
I wish they would last forever, alas, i’ll have to make anther pair.
this year, for the impossible make along, I tackled two at a time toe up socks.
I learned some new skills, and at the end of it, I did have two socks right away. but- I was so frustrated making them, with all the tangling and twisting, that I am happy to report I am back to my traditional one a time, flap heel and gusset- it works for me, and I’m pleased to be able to share this skill with all of you.
