Jimmy Beans Wool Sent me A Della Q maker’s Bag to try out!
Knitting in the Wild:
I see a lot of gorgeous project bags and purses out there, and while I appreciate and love the pretty fabrics and cute styles I really am a utilitarian at heart.
I had been looking for a sturdy and reliable knitting project bag, I need a backpack, the only “purses” I’ve ever had success in carrying with me, are backpacks. the activities that I do outside of the house are hiking, and… that’s about it.
It’s important to me to have both my hands free so I can clamber around rocks, and have the least amount of impact on the world around me, I wouldn’t want a swinging bag knocking into the plant life, or throwing off my center of gravity while I am out.
Another thing about me is, I am never seen without my projects.
I take a knitting project bag with me wherever I go.
I carried the Della Q knitting project bag with me everywhere this past month to see how it worked and how it held up.
First thing I noticed, this bag has a lot of pockets.
Perfect for keeping supplies with you on the go.
I could really have a separate notions kit JUST for this bag and it would fit in all of these pockets.
Second thing I noticed, this knitting project bag can hold ALOT.
I was able to fit an entire blanket project and 3 extra balls of wool in here with room to spare.
The Yarn Guide.
I found the yarn guide very useful once I figured out how to use it.
at first, when I had just a small project in the bag, with one skein of wool in the bag, the yarn guide would drop my yarn, but, by elevating the yarn I was using, with 3 balls of yarn placed in the bottom of the bag to keep the backpack more open, the guide worked well.
Using the yarn guide is pretty much essential, because if you don’t the yarn gets caught in the zipper and that can be frustrating.
The Yarn Cutter:
The yarn cutter has come in handy many times.
I love that it’s built in to the backpack so if for some reason I can’t find my scissors, it’s there to help me in a pinch.
it’s located on the opposite side of the bag as the yarn guide, and once I found it, it proved very useful.
The bag also comes with a couple of cute stitch markers, a tapestry needle and a little project notebook.
It’s the little things.
The one time I went out in public (yes, I went to the Yarn store)
I got compliments on the backpack. they liked the way it looked and admired the way it was made.
It’s True, The bag is nicely made.
The Makers Canvas backpack is a waxed canvas backpack reinforced with leather details on the handles and zippers. the zippers themselves are very sturdy and I expect them to last a long time.
It’s a gender non specific backpack, which I love about it.
the color I got was olive, and it goes with everything! very neutral, which, is something I need more of in my life.
I will definitely be carrying this bag around, it’s well made, attractive, and best of all, functional.
You can tell that dellaq was definitely designed with makers in mind.
I wanted to know who made & Designed the Della Q bags and you can learn more about the bags on the della Q website
“Della went from buying products directly from Lien’s souvenir shop to collaborating with Lien (and now, 5 other women) to create their own designs! After spending a week with Lien, her family, and the 5 women who make these products from scratch, I understand even more what a special group of women stand behind each and every Della Q product.”
