I had the pleasure of being included as one of the designers for the Purl It Forward Traveling Afghan Knitting Project.

July is my Birthday month so it felt special to be able to be the designer for July.

The Colors for this project are Lemon and Dusty Blue, which look great together, we love an (almost) complimentary color combo.

the yarn is Feels Like Butta From Lion Brand yarn, its a very soft springy yarn with good stitch definition.

I would describe the yarn, not as plied, but as something like a chained yarn, which makes it super springy and squishy.

When I received the blanket sent to me, I was finally able to appreciate the work that the other designers put into this project, and feel connected to them as I worked on my square and then seamed it to the afghan.

it was a beautiful reminder of how we can really create something big, with collective effort.

I think it would be really wonderful to create this afghan with a group of friends, and then use it collectively for outings, or let it live for a while with each knitter for a while, and then get passed on. I know during the isolating times that was 2020, I could have really used a project that connected me to my friends while we were unable to gather in person.

you can access the free pattern for square #7 here on this blog post or

you can download a PDF version of this pattern for just $1 from my store.

This Free Knitting pattern uses stranded colorwork to create a classic houndstooth pattern.
